Candidate must satisfy BPSSC Assistant Sub-Inspector (Technical) Advt. No. 07/2026 conditions.



1Citizenship: Candidate must be an Indian citizen. Male, female and third gender candidates can apply.

2Technical diploma: Candidate must have passed a 3-year diploma by 01 August 2025 from a recognized Polytechnic / Institute in one of these branches: Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Tele Communication, Information Technology, or Electrical & Electronics.

3Minimum marks: General / EWS / BC / EBC candidates need at least 50% marks in the diploma. SC / ST candidates need at least 45% marks.

4Age as on 01 August 2025: Minimum age is 21 years. Maximum age is 37 years for UR male, 40 years for UR female / BC / EBC, and 42 years for SC / ST. Other State reserved candidates are treated as UR.

5Physical standards: Candidate must satisfy the notified height, chest, weight and PET standards. Male candidates need 1.6 km running in 7 minutes; female candidates need 1 km running in 7 minutes.


Note: Bihar domicile rules apply for reservation benefits. Other State category candidates should apply as UR candidates as per the official advertisement.

The preliminary written examination has 100 objective questions for 100 marks and 2 hours duration. It includes General Knowledge / current issues and one selected technical group at Polytechnic level. Candidates scoring below 30% in the preliminary examination are treated as unsuccessful. The main written examination has two papers. Paper I is General Hindi and General English for 100 marks, qualifying in nature, and requires 30 marks. Paper II is the selected technical subject for 100 marks, 100 questions and 3 hours duration; candidates need at least 33% marks. There is negative marking of 0.2 marks for each wrong answer. Candidates up to five times the vacancies may be called for physical efficiency / measurement test, which is qualifying in nature. Final merit is prepared from the marks of the second paper of the main written examination among candidates who qualify PET/measurement.
