🎓 Eligibility

CTET Paper I - Classes I to V:

For Primary Level / Paper I, the candidate must satisfy at least one of these qualification paths:

Senior Secondary or equivalent with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
OR

Senior Secondary or equivalent with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education as per the NCTE Recognition Norms and Procedure Regulations, 2002.
OR
3
Senior Secondary or equivalent with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
OR
4
Senior Secondary or equivalent with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

CTET Paper II - Classes VI to VIII:

For Junior Level / Paper II, the candidate must satisfy at least one of these qualification paths:

Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

At least 50% marks in Graduation or Post-Graduation and passed or appearing in Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
OR

Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) as per NCTE norms.
OR

Senior Secondary or equivalent with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

Senior Secondary or equivalent with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
OR

Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in B.Ed (Special Education).

Qualified or pursuing an NCTE/RCI-recognized teacher education course eligible under existing TET/CTET guidelines.

Candidates have to apply online, pay the examination fee, download the admit card, and appear for the CTET paper or papers selected by them. The exam has multiple-choice questions and no negative marking. Candidates scoring 60% or more are considered CTET pass, but final appointment eligibility is verified later by the recruiting agency or appointing authority.

📝 Job Description

CTET September 2026 is the 22nd edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education. The exam is for candidates who want to become eligible for teaching Classes I to VIII. Paper I is for candidates who want to teach Classes I to V, and Paper II is for candidates who want to teach Classes VI to VIII. Candidates who want eligibility for both levels must appear in both papers. The online application starts on 11 May 2026 and closes on 10 June 2026 at 11:59 PM.
