🎓 Eligibility

Junior Research Fellowship (JRF):

Master degree or equivalent with at least 55% marks for General/Unreserved/General-EWS, or 50% marks for OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD/PwBD/Third gender. Four-year bachelor degree candidates need 75% marks, or 70% for relaxed categories. JRF age must not exceed 30 years as on 01 June 2026, with eligible relaxations as per the official bulletin.

Assistant Professor Eligibility:

Master degree or equivalent with at least 55% marks for General/Unreserved/General-EWS, or 50% marks for OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD/PwBD/Third gender. Candidates appearing in the qualifying Master degree may apply provisionally. Four-year bachelor degree alone is not eligible for Assistant Professor. There is no upper age limit.

Admission to Ph.D.:

Master degree or equivalent with required marks, or four-year bachelor degree with at least 75% marks for UR and 70% for relaxed categories. Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination may apply provisionally as per the official bulletin. There is no upper age limit for admission to Ph.D.

UGC NET June 2026 will be conducted as a computer based test of 180 minutes. The result will determine whether a candidate qualifies for JRF and Assistant Professor, Assistant Professor and Ph.D. admission, or Ph.D. admission only, according to NTA/UGC rules and the candidate's performance.

📝 Job Description

National Testing Agency has released the UGC NET June 2026 online application for Junior Research Fellowship, Assistant Professor eligibility and admission to Ph.D. programmes. The online application window is open from 29 April 2026 to 20 May 2026 up to 11:50 PM. The last date for successful fee transaction is also 20 May 2026. Candidates can make corrections in the application form from 22 May 2026 to 24 May 2026. The city intimation is scheduled by 10 June 2026 and admit cards are scheduled by 15 June 2026. The examination will be held from 22 June 2026 to 30 June 2026 in computer based test mode. The test duration is 180 minutes without a break between Paper 1 and Paper 2. Candidates should read the official information bulletin carefully before applying because eligibility differs for JRF, Assistant Professor and Ph.D. admission.
